I decided to stop smoking pot, but now Im having trouble sleeping? -

I haven-t smoked in 5 days, and have been smoking almost everyday for about 4 years, I am just not that interested in it anymore, but now I can-t sleep...what should I do?Good for you ..thats nasty stuff!
I would recommend some aroma therapy (lavender is very soothing)
Check out some simple meditations to clear your mind
Do not drink caffeine after lunch ..or there abouts
Get some more exercise
and last but not least (well in my book) a good orgasm usually has me sleeping like a baby in no time ..hope that helps :) good luck !

Also ..just for the short term since your so newly quit you might try some Tylenol pm or something like that ..they do help and arent too addictive short term ..better than the pot for sure!It-s a withdrawal symptom, comparable to what occurs when people quit tobacco smoking.

Given pot stays in your system longer than nicotine, you may have to deal with things like insomnia longer than a normal smoker, even if you probably don-t have the same cravings they would.

Over the counter sleeping pills might be of assistance, or you could probably get a prescription for it if it-s unusually bad.

If you are able to get on some form of exercise routine (even just walking regularly) and can eat healthily, you should be more likely to sleep better. At least with nicotine, many also find aid from a multivitamin and/or B-complex vitamin. The exercise is often key.The best thing is to just give it time. I recently quit for a month and at first sleeping was extremely hard. I have a tough time sleeping anyways (it-s 2:41 right now), but if you only stopped smoking 5 days ago your sleeping habits should go back to normal soon. When I stopped it was about 3 days till I started eating normal again. Just give it time, it-s nothing to go see a doctor about.

Sometimes I have trouble sleeping because I have a lot of stuff on my mind, and I have a really tough time emptying my mind. In this case pot doesn-t even help me sleep, because the things on my mind burn deeper. So just try to get back to your normal sleeping patterns, it will happen in a few days.Try another form of relaxation...take a walk after dinner, or if it helps have a glass of alcohol (but dont become an alcoholic lol)
If you read, get some new books and go to bed and read before you go to sleep, or just have some quiet time and listen to relaxing music before you go to sleep. Try a hot drink of cocoa or tea...or have a hot shower/bath before bed time to help u unwind. It will get easier, its just a case of finding another way to get you to relax so you can sleep.Take your meal regularly and dont rest keep busy in your routine activites, , sleep cant evade you for long. Good, keep it up.Go to the doctor and tell him or her the exact same thing and he will give you something like Xanax. It will be confidential.Start smoking pot
