Just stopped smoking any tips on getting my health back? -

Ive just stopped smoking and im cutting down on my drinking because of my health. Please any tips on getting back my health will be greatly appreciated. maybe some light exercise any tips on that would be cool and just in general food and stuff anything else you can think of. thanks :-)well its PROVEN that pot smoke effectivly flushes out the tobacco toxins so i say start there, research yourself if you dont believe meLet me appreciate first for the brave step you took. Now to recover your health try inhaleing/pumping(in take of deep breath)more fresh (oxigen)air to your lungs.Do the following breath exercise gradually for 5 minutes early in the morning from a fresh environment..Intake breath for 8 seconds hold for the same period and release them for 8 seconds. The lung walls and its surrounding tiny muscles will become strong and with in a few months you will be back to your normal health. And thanks for not smoking from today. For light exercise, try doing a power walk around the block in the morning. Take some water with you, and don-t go to fast. Need to dust off your lungs before we do anything strenuous.
When my dad quit, he started going to the gym and power walking on the treadmill for 15 minutes. Then he would do some leg exercises (not sure what, he used the gyms equipment).
Food wise, anything is pretty much okay. Just try not to do anything like barbeque or grill. The smoke may bother you or tempt you to go back. I suggest veggies like bell peppers and fruits like apples and pineapple. Those always make me feel better and give me a little boost. And they always taste good. If you don-t like veggies plain, go for a light or fat free ranch. I always like Hidden Valley Ranch.

Good luck! And congrats on giving up smoking. =] It-s people like you who understand what-s important.Whilst the sun is out go for a nice walk, walking is really good for you and the sun on your bones will help you feel good about yourself, congrats on the smoking front, well done girl. Go on, go for a nice stroll and then stop for a glass of lemonade at a nice country pub. God bless and good luck. Ohh, how about a bike ride, now thats really good for ya and you get to see some lovely places.your lungs start to recover more and more the longer you go without smoking. i read somewhere that a smokers lungs will return to their optimal healthiness after an equal amount of time of not smoking. so for example if you smoked for 20 years, your lungs would be completely healed in 20 years..........

my suggestion? weightlifting. gaining muscle is probably the best thing you can do for your body. it makes you look better, your heart stronger, and your metabolism faster. not to mention the most obvious.....that you-d also be stronger than you were before. so you can lay down da law!Props for quitting smoking. Your health gets better every day you don-t smoke.

If you start an exercise routine, id start out slow and easy and work your way up.

Your lung capacity sucks right now, so heavy aerobic exercise might be a little much for you. I-d start with something low impact like long walks or yoga, and take it from there.Well done!
Get out walking in the fresh air
Eat plenty of fresh food raw fruit and salad
Drink plenty of water
Go swimming

Do little clockwise circles with your fingers all around your mouth(TTouch) just gently moving the skin so very lightly, this will help relieve the anxiety which builds up and has encouraged you in the past to smoke and drink.EAT LIVER.

Calves- liver is the richest natural source of vital vitamin B12, followed by beef, lamb and salmon.

Smoking depletes vitamin B12, a deficiency of which can lead to weakness, fatigue and depression.... all of which are likely to make you reach for the fags again.eating well, vegetables and fruit and the sort
pulses and beans are good
lung exercises
long walks
do some sport, like in a team
do things with other people who have quit smoking too if you can find any, and do sport together!
go for a massage at the spa and relax!Take exercise, it doesn-t matter what as long as its something, and eat a well balanced diet to include fruit and vegetables.

Drink alcohol in moderation.

Congratulations on giving up smoking.I wanted to start exercising more but didn-t want to go to the gym. I brought an exercise bike from the charity shop for £6! I sit in front of the telly for an hour pedaling away to my fave shows. Genius!ride a bike. i would say to jog, but i doubt your lungs can take too much of that right now. Baby steps...drink lot of home-made fruits juice.
