All opinions on it please!YES YES YES YES YESI read it when i was about 20. I didnt stop then - but what he said always stuck with me! I gave up for two weeks straight after....
I then wanted to try again so got the book and kept it around from the age of 22. I eventually gave up when I was 23.
The things he says are great and he changes your way of thinking about smoking - things like
-I-m not giving up smoking-
What exactly are you -giving up-?
You will instead become a non-smoker, your not giving up anything. Just by changing the fact you say i-m a non-smoker changes the whole concept from -giving up-
There are loads of little things he says that stick with you. And these little tips and points completely tear down any logic to smoking.
The energy you will find from not smoking is quite impressive you will channel this energy into something and make it constructive...
this is no joke... once you give up smoking you know that you can achieve anything you want to, and that is a FACT.
I smoked 20 a day for 5 yrs and loved cigarettes but since i read his book i questioned what i was doing more and more as time went on.
I went thru scheduled periods of abstinence when i was giving up as i knew it was a stupid thing to do - each day i would challenge myself to go an hr longer without a benson(cig) - i just had to think about what he had said - and there will come a euphoric moment when u feel u can do it and u know u can and u can just become a non-smoker.
To this day i still feel I like i havent -given up- but am simply someone who has the free will and the strength to CHOOSE not to smoke. Cos you have the power!!!!
If this sounds in any way preachy - v v v sorry. The book isnt at all its absolutely fantastic and written from a smokers point of view - he just really rips the whole idea of smokin in to tiny pieces and shits on it.I didnt read it sorry but I just wanted to tell you that I stopped smoking three weeks ago and have not looked back. I feel so much better already. Guess I just needed to pick the right time to stop for me and off I go..... good luck if you are thinking of doing it too.I picked up Jimmys Carrs book by mistake, I reckon theres a lot more jokes in it. Hasn-t helped me give up the fags thoughThis book is epic - I haven-t had a cigerette since November 18th 2006. Follow his instructions and you can-t fail. I read it a few times previously, and quit for about 6 months each time, then started again after breaking his rules - i.e. having a reefer which kickstarted the nicotine addiction again. Bottom line is this book makes quitting really easy, fun, and i guaruantee you-ll feel millions better after quitting - especially of you-re into sports.I have read it and it didnt work for me, he repeats everything over and over again and it gets so boring. You have to be 100% ready to quit otherwise your fail.
Good Luck
If you want to give up you should be able 2 just stop and not look back.My boyfriend read it and gave up - 7 months now, he swears by it!nope. got the book and dvd to go with it but it never helped.
i did however, give up 3 months ago with the aid of nicotine patches. they were fantastic.i ended up smoking the book.......forget books and gimmicks.....sit there and smoke 37 smokes in a row, we will see how you feel about smoking after youve done this.
