How do i stop smoking? -

How do i stop smoking? -

ive been trying for ages and have completly given up giving up. need tips and suggestions please? as nothing ive tried seems to workI quit smoking in April of this year!! I found that the patch works, but other family members have used the lozenge and gone cold turkey. In fact my grandmother after 60+ years of smoking used the lozenge about 4 years ago, and she still uses it (though not as often as smoking). The people that I know that go cold turkey, don-t last long.
Another little tip that really helped me when I quit was whenever the urge came on, take a quick, deep breath (like you would if you inhaled a drag). That-s all that smoking is..that-s why it feels like such a relief when you smoke that cigarette.

I hope I helped a little and I wish you the best of luck!!!nicotine gum, it helps a lot1. Remove any tobacco - containing product from your mouth and dispose of it sensibly.
2. Don-t put any more tobacco - containing products in your mouth.

Follow these two simple steps and hey presto! you have stopped smoking. There is a good method to quit smoking. (talk with your doctor first about your overall health.) You use cream of tarter ( use for baking) and mix one teaspoon with an 8oz glass of orange juice. The cream of tarter naturally detoxes your body of the nicotine levels. Do this for 30 days. ( mornings are best) and after 30 you should be able to stop smoking as your body no longer craves the nicotine. Good Luck! :)I used nicorette gum, it helped a lot. I chew -regular- gum now if I really get a craving. I must admit, every now and then I still have a cigarette, about 5-10 times a year.

Good luck...You can do it!Change to rolling you own tobacco with tips in the end.

You will not give up smoking, but it will save you some money and not cause so much nuisance as the straight ordinary cigarettes which cause so much smoke.

They will still kill you, but they don-t say when!Once you learn the benefits of healtthy living you will never think of smokingA combination of Welbutrin and a patch is a good way. Just a suggestion and you-ll need to visit a dr for the Rx. Good Luck!go cold turkey.Patches are good, but you won-t stop unless you have some will power too!Don-t put another cigarette in your mouth! It-s crap and you wouldn-t eat crap would you?I stopped smoking 3 years ago by a session of hypnotherapy. Haven-t had a ciggy or wanted one since!

It is quite expensive (i paid around £300) but as I smoked 20 a day for 15 years it payed for itself within 3 months of giving up (money I would have spent on ciggys)

I-m not sure where you are based but here is a website that has a list of hypnotherapists in Merseyside UK If you search on the net I-m sure you could find one in your area.

Hope this helps
Good Luck

Just quit. Chew gum or something.by stopping it.Hypnosis did it for me (and I wasn-t a big believer before that, well, still don-t find it to be anything magical) and a couple of my friends said that acupuncture is good, but don-t know about that personally. Check that your hypnotist is legimate (listed) and ask for references before though.

Also, you can try arranging a situation where you can-t smoke. It may help for the first two or three weeks, like rent a cottage, or give your money to a friend and go to a trip where you can-t ask anyone for a cig and can-t buy any. This is good even if you do go back to smoking, as you will notice that it doesn-t hurt, it-s actually quite ok to be without one.i found it to be more about will power then anything else. keep active and find a hobby (if even for a short time).....Remember you are stronger then the Cig.As an ex-smoker the only thing that worked for me was cold turkey. I tried EVERYTHING else! The patch, gum, smoke-away, cutting back, hypnotherapy, acupuncture, you name it. But until i decided I didn-t need it anymore nothing worked. I just woke up one morning and decided i didn-t need to smoke anymore and quit. I was embarrased in public, was setting a terrible example for my daughter, and my husband hated it. It has been almost 10 months and I feel great. It is so much better not smoking! Now I am not a slave to nicotine and i din-t have to worry about where I go, if I could smoke or not. Just be strong, are you really going to let a little stick control your life?I wish I knew the answer to that. I would make a fortuneTalk to your doctor about Welbutrin, It-s an antidepresant that has been found to relieve the tension of quitting smoking. You have to have a good reason for wanting to give up and just focus on that!keep yourself busy get a job were you cant smoke and you can get nicoten replica cigarette they are good ask your chemist pharmacy that way if you get the replica ciggie you can reach for it all its down to is having something in your hand it will workTalk to your doctor. Right now the best treatment is some sort of nicotine replacement (patch or gum) combined with Xyban or Welbutrin to help with anxiety associated with quiting.Sheer will-power is the only way to do it.
There-s endless -advice- and facts etc out there for the taking, but when it comes down to it, you just have to -not smoke-.You-ve probably tried it, but I found the patch to be pretty helpful. You have to have willpower, but it helps with the cravings. If you want to stop, just stop.

I know it-s not as easy as that, but it was the only way that worked for me.

It really is about willpower – don-t waste your money on patches and gums. They do nothing but cost you the money you-re saving on not buying cigarettes. It took me about three tries but I haven-t smoked for over two years now.

Whenever you want a cigarette, stop. Think about the smell. Think about the health risks. Think about that phlegmy cough. Think about the people around you. Think about anything that will put you off lighting up.

I can-t stress enough that it-s simply up to you! You want to stop, so stop! All the best, and I-m sure you can do it.Go online and look up pictures of the damage that cancer does to your body. This oughta do it. I quit cold turkey six years ago. ALso, think of what you want to live for, the good and precious things you want to look forward to that will be robbed from you if you get cancer. If you shorten your life, you will not get to see your grandkids, or your kids- important life milestones.
