I-m currently 19 and smoke about 5 cigarettes a day.It takes about 10 pack years of smoking to cause lung cancer, and you aren-t yet at heart attack age, so I-d say the effect on your life expectancy is going to be pretty damn low, though not of course nonexistent.If you want numbers, you can try plugging your figures into this smoking risk calculator:

I tried it with five a day for ten years (don-t know how long you-ve been smoking) and the effect on life expectancy was small.Depends on how bad you get! They say for every cigarette you smoke, you take about a day off of your life. It ultimately depends on how long you-ve smoked and how much you do it. Sometimes there are defects with your body and smoking can really take a toll on your body. It can make the situation worse. I-d stay quit now instead of later. My dad tried to quit so many times but never could. He died at the age of 50...smoking 3 packs a day. Don-t give your addiction time to worsen! If you do decide to smoke, don-t do it around your children. I have really bad asthma and cigarette smoke makes it so much worse. I was stuck with my dad smoking...even when I couldn-t breathe, he couldn-t give up his precious addiction. Don-t do that to your future/current kids!Don-t know...might get hit by a truck or have a house fall on you.....
At least, if you quit smoking, you might be able to run fast enough to get out of the way.......No you wont...
