I just don-t want too. I know it is so unhealthy but, I actually enjoy smoking. In the morning with coffee and a crossword is my most addictive time. Is there a solution for me?You sound like me. I have always enjoyed my cigarette with my coffee and crossword puzzel. Then I got double pneumonia and was put into the hospital with the posibbility of not making it for another day or two. A week in the hospital I quit because there is no smoking in the hospital. I had smoked for 55 years and now I have emphazema . Go to your hospital and ask them for the group that encourages smokers to quit. They will give you all the help you need. When I got home I started with chewing on things like jerky,candy twists anything like that helps. Gum was no help to me because the flavor did not last long enough. If you have a friend that will help you and don-t mind the phone ringing call her everytime you want a cigarette.MOST HELPFUL KEEP YOUR SELF BUSY SO YOUR MIND AND HANDS ARE BUSY. I hope this helps youI believe you have to WANT to quit...my husband smokes and knows he should quit...i dont think he wants to though...I quit 2 times...first for 10 yrs and then smoked for 2 years and quit so far it-s been 4 yrs...an elderly man gave me his tip for quitting and it worked both times...Put one cigarette away (on top of fridge?) and you wont have that -OMG I-m out of smokes!!!- feeling...just dont smoke it!!! lol..Resist smoking for 2 weeks and you-ll see that it does get easier as long as you dont slip and -have just one!!!- Good Luck!!Find something else to do during that time. Something fun to keep your mind off smoking. Usually if you can stop for 3 days, after that you should be ok. Cravings-ll be tough though, but if you can make it over the 3-day hump, it shouldnt be so bad. Its tough to stop smoking if you dont want to though...Maybe you should try quitting slowly, you know reducing how much you smoke everyday until youre down to a really low number and then go cold turkey, or buy some nicotine gum or patches to help you quit. Good luck.There are many options when it comes to how to quit. Cold Turkey, patch, and so on. However for many it-s very difficult. One thing to try is to decrease gradually. Set a time space between cigarettes and try to stick to it. Gradually cut back on your intake and eventually you will get to the point where it will be much easier to quit completely.Good Luck !
