How Can I Quit Smoking? Im Addicted!!!? -

Well I just went through a surgery, and my Dr. said I have to stop smoking... I really do not know how too... or what to do? Any suggestions? I cant just -Stop!- I thought maybe lowering my number of cigarettes day by day... What was helpful to you.. or to someone you know? Like nicotene patches? Gum? Help!?First off, congratulations for WANTING to quit smoking!!

As far as answering, there are a lot of ways, and it also depends on how much you-ve been smoking. The best ways are slowly lowering your dose (takes a long time sometimes), or going cold turkey (which is faster, but harder). Either way, the last thing is making the decision to quit, so you-ll eventually have to deal with the withdrawal.

For the most part, when you deal with withdrawal, you-ll just have to tough it out, but there are some things that can help cleanse out the toxins and may help to minimize some of the effects of withdrawal...
Drinking water will help to detox, and taking some supplements that work as cleansers may help as well. Specifically, Apple Cider Vinegar, Green Tea (decaffeinated), Chlorophyll (fantastic cleanser), and even good amounts of fiber and water helps some people (although it-s not very comfortable for the lower level of detoxification you get).

All that being said, it-s likely that the symptoms should stop relatively shortly after your last smoke (it-s never as long as it feels like it is). Your neurotransmitters don-t take too terribly long to scream for something they are addicted to after you stop.
Another important thing to note is that no matter how bad it gets, taking more of the drug (and yes, nicotine is a drug) will only make the withdrawal last longer and will be harder on you in the long run. Good luck, and congrats again!Hello!

Here not many solutions what you can do. Solution 1 is switch to nicotine replacement therapy (but same nicotine inside) or really quit smoking using NLP, help of meds, natural remedies, etc.

Nicotine replacement therapy is

this things is just help you to lower damage of your body from tobacco smoking switching to plain nicotine (without smoke/other 4000 chemicals) but it still dangerous for your body.

Please note what only self motivation can help you to really stop smoking. In the world still not exist magic quit smoking pill, most people must to do himself (like usual).i quit smoking and I did it by lowering my number of cigarettes day by day, just as you suggested. It worked so well, my husband has quit TWICE using the same method. ha ha. Anyway, I smoked over a pack a day- so at first I cut down to one pack. I smoked that amount for a week. Then I cut down very slowly by lowering the amount of cigarettes I could have each day and holding that number for a week. After awhile it started getting hard so I actually made the exact times in the day I had to wait until I could smoke my cigarette ration. I got down to smoking half of a cigarette in the morning and the other half at night and then I just stopped. I HAD NO SERIOUS CRAVINGS. I also never restarted cuz smoking is expensive and a pain in the ***.Everyone I know that has quit smoking just had to quit cold turkey. It-s one of the hardest things you-ll ever do... and one of the best decisions you will ever make for yourself and everyone around you. Here are some resources from the American Cancer Society that I hope will help you. Good luck, and if you need any more information you can call the ACS anytime day or night at 1-800-ACS-2345 and they can provide you with anything you need.

But it depends where you are britain and Canada itll be free cos of free healthcare .If your in America i guess you wouldd have to check your insuranceStop means Stop. Cold turkey is the best way to go. I did it 20 years ago. I was 2 packs a day. Once you get past the first couple of days, it gets easier after that.NHS do a free dvd and help, quit with other people rather than on your own, it gives you more willpower if you feel you will let a class downYou could check out a Christian 12-step addiction recovery group. Ask a Baptist church where there is one near you. God can help you live a better life if you want Him to help you. You can have a personal relationship with God by saying the prayer below. God is our Creator, all-knowing, all-powerful, eternal, holy, love. God loves us and sent us His Son, Jesus Christ, so we can go to heaven if we know and follow Him. Forever means without end -- time on and on without death. Forever is what happens after we die. Either we go to heaven and be with God forever, or we go to hell which is very bad and painful forever. The good people who are saved believers in Jesus Christ go to heaven. The bad people go to hell. We need to know and follow God in this world to get to heaven in the next world. We follow God by loving and obeying Him and loving others for Him. Jesus Christ, God-s Son, is our bridge to God. Jesus died on the cross to cancel our sins. We need to accept Jesus into our life as our Lord and Savior forever to receive God-s blessing and forgiveness plus go to heaven to be with God forever after we die. This is about being a born-again Christian. Faith in God is a gift from God. You can pray for faith in God. Just speak out and ask God for the faith to believe in Him and to follow Him. Some people find faith in God when they realize the beauty in the world is made by God. Evolution can-t explain the world-s natural beauty, for example, the parks in the world, animals, flowers, peacocks, sunsets, butterflies, rainbows, etc. After you have your faith on, you can pray a sinner-s prayer to be a born-again Christian. This prayer is very important and should be said with a sincere heart and faith in God. This is the prayer: -Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and that Jesus Christ is the sacrifice for our sins. I have done the following sins (state these out) and I pray to discontinue these sins. I pray to receive Jesus Christ into my life as my Lord and Savior forever. In Jesus- name, amen.- I-m Lutheran and I like the Baptist churches too. You could try out a Christian church and also see about their weekly Bible study group to learn about God-s will for your life. You can pray to God about your daily life and have a Christian church pray for you.
