How is smoking cigarettes addicting? -
i-m just curious in knowing. i-ve tried smoking a cigarette maybe 2 or 3 times in my entire life. of course not all the way through, though. i don-t see how people can like it. the first time i tried it, i thought it was nasty as hell. people say that even after your first time you can get addicted. why am i not addicted? why does -addiction- only sound like an excuse to just not stop smoking?why is it that after THREE TIMES of me trying a cigarette it-s still as nasty as the last time? people know it can kill you and shorten your life span. and cause all sorts of problem.
so why continue to do it?
i would like a true, dedicated tobacco smoker to please explain for me please? i-m not trying to be rude, i just want to know what it is. i know young kids start smoking to be -cool-, but when it goes to far and as an adult the addiction carries on, what is it?
and also, if you smoke, tell me why you do.
do you like the taste, does it make you calm, are you addicted?
also, those times that i have -tried- smoking, i wasn-t /trying/ to get addicted. i-ve been taught that smoking tobacco is bad and it-s discouraged by my parents, who thankfully have never smoked or begun a habit or addiction of it.
but i-m asking because my sister, my aunt and some kids at my school i know smoke tobacco. and i want to know what-s going on in their heads when they do.
thanks for any answers you can give. :)When I was younger, I always wanted to see why millions of people were addicted to cigarettes. When I first started out, it was disgusting... I agree. It gave me a terrible buzz that made me feel nauseous. I thought I would do an experiment, smoke for a month (couple cigarettes a day), after a month I would see if I could stop. So, after a while before I knew it I was actually hooked physically and mentally. I was so used to having a conversation while smoking, it was soothing and relaxing. I believe I could stop at any given time, but I honestly don-t want to right now.
After smoking for a while, I don-t get that nasty buzz and It doesn-t taste as bad as when I first started. The physical cravings are unbearable to some people. They start having anxiety attacks, their stomach hurting, etc. It varies on different people.
I know you probably see numerous people smoking cigarettes, almost all of them wish they could quit. Some people have a really addictive personality. There are way more people addicted to cigarettes then any other drug.
It-s the only thing that keeps me sane! I-ll stop when I feel its the right time.Nicotine , the addictive drug in cigarettes, is more addictive than HEROINE per concentration.
That-s why they do it.
They are addicted .
