Stop smoking help ? -

ive been trying to quit smoking for over a year , i have tried everything patches inhalers and i just spent £100 on getting hypnotised , apart from the hypno i was smoking again within a week(i know pathetic) i smoke 20 a day ,After the hypno i have found it still difficult to quit i am still smoking but only one a day , i dont know wether to be happy with that or what any advice ?????????? (pls no cheeky answers about it killing me and others i am well aware and trying to sort my problem out )I used to write on the cigarettes what time i could have them. started having one on the hour, then sometimes i would think -well i dont want one just yet, i-ll wait till the one after-, gradually, i went to one every 2 hours then every 3 etc etc.

Also ring smoking cessation service, they-ll take details off you, then ask to go on champix tablets, stopped within 3 weeks havent had one for over 2 years now,
everyone who-s tried them cant believe the resultsJust go cold turkey. Throw them away and start a hobbie.Hypnosis has got you down to one a day. I would say you can be reasonably confident about this method. You don-t have to keep spending money on therapists though, you can use self-hypnosis, meditation and prayer.

This has been proven to make physical changes to your brain so it can counteract the neurons that have become addicted to nicotine.A friend of mine read a book by Allen Carr and it helped him to stop for good, I-ve never smoked so can-t say myself but might be worth a go:

Good luck, I really think it-s great that you-re trying to give up, I hope you manage it :o)go to the doctors there are other pills they can give you i had them and havent smoked for 8 months also they keep checking on you ps i was on 40 a dayGood on ya for nearly reaching ya goal weight..true concentrate on 1 thing at a time, and you really have to want to give up..its in ya head..im a smoker and have done for 15years or so..giving up smoking is just as hard as losing weight, you have to be on the right track and mentally strong for it to succeed and you obviously are heading in the right direction due to ya weight loss..well done!!Have you tried the lozengers by Commit.
My husband had the worst time quiting and failed with everything he tried, these seemed to work, because it had the same calming effect you get from the cig, he tried the patch, the gum and the medication before.
Make a game out of it, who will win you or the cigs, if you are stubborn you will win, because you can-t stand to loose.
Good luck.have you tried the prescription drug Chantix? I know several people who have had good luck with this.It really is hard giving up smoking, I know I did it a year ago, I cut down gradually, what I did was when I wanted a cigarette I told myself to wait half an hour, then wait half an hour, then wait half an hour (and on and on) in the end I eventually was going all day by waiting half an hour to have a cigarette (but not having one) and eventually I gave up.

Try it with your one, say to yourself, ok I wont have this now, I-ll have it later, and you will soon find you put off having it at all.

Well done though from going from 20 a day to 1 a day and good luck giving up that one xxOK, I smoked for 10 years and loved it and finally quit 6 months ago. It was so hard, but after 2.5 months quit not smoking became easy. It took a lot for me too. I was on Wellbutrin and Chantix and saw a hyptontist (but it didn-t work for me either) I also joined an online support group called Freedom From Smoking (all at the same time I did these things.) I also used an e-cigarette for a few weeks (see www.crown7.com, and www.njoy.com) these are new inventions and almost no one has heard of them. But check out the site to see what I mean. I used non-nicotine cartridges because it takes only 3 days to get nicotine out of your system. It-s way easier to quit in my opinion if you go non-nicotine because in 72 hours the physical addiction is gone.
Just please keep trying!! Once you get a day or so go to www.whyquit.com whenever you want to smoke, post to FFS online, smoke non-nicotine e-cig... in like 2-3 months (or less who knows) you-ll be over it and it will be easy, so you just have to stick out the pain for a while. Another thing, do read all you can about the bad parts of smoking. I read about people with COPD, lung cancer, all that stuff and it really changed the way I think about smoking... but it took a lot and was kind of morbid and depressing.
They say you-d have to add more than 100 lbs to your current weight to put the same amount of strain on your heart as smoking, and even then the cancer and other risk oughtweighs it... yes quit smoking. Worry about losing weight, too... but if you quit smoking it will become easier for you to work out. Sugar free gum, lots of water, cinamon toothpicks. I only gained 8 lbs, and I-ve already got it off. I struggle with weight too. They say the average weight gain is only 5 lbs.whenever you want that one cigarette, drink a big glass of water, then distract yourself with something that will keep your hands and mind busy. When the craving hits again, do the same. It will be a few days before you stop craving it, and I am sure it will make for some hectic, crazy-filled days, but have faith that you can do it!There is no really easy solution but you need to get rid of that one a day. I found that even if I only had one in 2 weeks, I was still likely to go back to smoking.

You brain plays tricks on you and tries to convince you to start again.

The aids only ease the pangs what you must do is find an incentive that works. (Treat yourself with the money saved, get someone to quit with you and use eachother for support etc. etc.)

Keep at it and good luck
