Does smoking and brushing your teeth make you gag? -

Does smoking and brushing your teeth make you gag? -

I have been a smoker for a while but sometimes when I smoke it makes me gag and retch. Does this happen to anyone else? I know what you-re going to say..... stop smoking... but seriously, many times i have come close to throwing up but usually its just retching. It doenst happen all the time, just sometimes. Also it happens when I brush my teeth. Anyone else have similar experiences? This means that you have an extra-sensitive gag reflex. Touching the soft palate (back of the roof of your mouth) incites your gag reflex. Just about everyone experiences it when brushing their teeth (and I personally have experienced it from smoking).

Unfortunately, there-s no cure or remedy, just be aware of touching that part of your mouth. Try humming when you-re brushing your teeth and be a little more aware of how open your throat is when you-re inhaling the smoke - the wider the better. If this is happening during exhaling - the same rule applies.Yeah, it happens to me once in a while- usually when I have a hangover- either smoking or brushing my teeth! When I brush my teeth in the morning, I feel like gagging.
