what-s the best way to stop smoking? The best way I know of is to change your habits as it relates to smoking. Leave your cigarettes in an inconvenient place so you can-t just grab them easily. You will learn that if you smoke one it-ll just lead to another. Also, try not inhaling. That will reduce the urge also. You will eventually say to yourself -what am I doing this for?-.
Another trick is to see yourself as a nonsmoker. Don-t take your cigarettes with you when you go out for only a couple of hours. You-ll see that it-s possible to do things without them and still be alright.
If you gat an urge, say to yourself, -that-s silly, I don-t smoke.-.The trick is fake till you make it. Act like a nonsmoker and you will become one without even noticing it.I-m not sure what the best way is b/c I-ve been trying to help my boyfriend stop for the past 3 years, but he-s so addicted. What my boyfriend did do for a while was pop in a Ricola every time he had a craving for a cigarette and that lasted a few months. I urge you to find what-s best for you to prevent you from getting any respiratory problems in the future. I take care of my Grampa who was a longtime smoker - he currently has so many respiratory problems, on so many medications and just very miserable. I don-t want anyone to go through what he-s been going through.I need help stopping smoking? -

? and your left brain feels painful? is it a dental problem or withdrawal symtons?i-m guessing withdrawal symptoms.
but your teeth are p robably bad enough from smoking.I-ve never heard of my patients having sensitive teeth when they stop smoking.....but that-s not to say that it can-t happen. BUT one thing that you may notice.....(not in everyone)...is that your gums may bleed more when you brush. This is due to the blood supply coming back into your gums. Smoking chokes off the blood supply to the gums, and when you stop, it comes back. My patients would be alarmed and say.....-wow, i shouldn-t have stopped smoking..now my gums are bleeding-. And my reply is.....if smoking stopped the blood supply to your gums, just imagine what it did to your whole body-.
About your left brain feeling painful......uh....sorry, i can-t help you there.....but congratulations on kicking the habit.happened to me cause i stopped ginding my teet at night and they started to fix themselves after years of grindingWithdrawal symptoms can vary significantally among individuals, it could definitely be that. Or you could have a cavity, but I-m guessing it-s withdrawal.when people quit smoking they suffer many symptoms...congradulations for your decisionIt-s the best decision to withdraw from smoking as it gives no good to health instead health and dental problems. A good all natural dental care solution, OraMD tackles the problems associated with periodontal disease, pockets and receding gums and is also extremely effective against chronic bad breath. Because the ingredients are natural enemies of bacteria, this solution cleans your mouth and stops halitosis ( bad breath ) in it-s tracks.

Has anyone tried the stop-smoking gum or lozenges?? -

Unfortunately, I still smoke. I have tried to quit on my own a couple of times but, I become a basket case. I hate that I am so addicted to the damn things but, I guess my will power is not quite strong enough. Anyways...my daughter has an overnight field trip coming up soon, she wants me to chaperone (as I have on all her field trips). I just don-t want to be a big crab because I cannot have a smoke. My question is...Can I use the gum or lozenges to ease my cravings for those two days and still have a smoke when I do get home? (if I feel I need one) I don-t know if it will make me sick or something. I really need help on this one. Thanks in advance!I still smoke too. I have tried the Patch (gives me a rash), the gums and commit lozenges, they do help....but after awhile they started effecting my heart, palpitations and erratic heart beat. It almost killed my dad, it did the same thing to him, only he had a heart attack.
You can use them to ease your cravings, but use them as directed, but even that didn-t work for me, I had to be taken off of them after I had to wear a halter monitor to see how this was reacting on my heart.
I-m different than you, just make sure you-re not taking too many and monitor yourself for differences..OK, Just be careful.
No one told me this, I had to find out the hard way.I have and they taste like sh!t. You might as well chew on an old cigarette butt.
Do the patch ...can-t taste that at all.Has anyone tried the stop-smoking gum or lozenges?? -

I desperately want to quit smoking but I don-t want to try any of the stuff on the market.I know alot of people that smoke cigs and has tried all of this stuff and it just doesn-t work.I am very ashamed of this addiction and am very aware of all the health problems that stem from it.So please help.that is good you are aware of chimicals harms, try natural ways like take alot of watter, do a bit of excersize or jogging in da early mornings and use mints, naturally, apart from being harmless it has alot of advantages....just whenever you felt like smoking try taking some mints, it will quintch your thirst for smoking and you would feel better in matter of a week or two.I just quit.
This way you cannot blame the patches if you fail.
When I was 28 I began to cough up blood and developed serious asthma. One trip to the doctor and I never smoked a ciggie again. It was not easy. But the few times I tried to borrow my friends would not give me them. I became one of those people who stripped beer bottles of all labels when I went to bars.
Within a few years I could not stand the smell of the stuff. My girls grew up giggling at how funny smoke looked coming out of peoples- noses and mouths.
It was not easy. I just plain quit.
Do not be ashamed of what you do. We live in a draconian society that passes judgement without understanding. No addiction is easy to break. We all know the tobacco companies spike their goods with chemicals guaranteed to hook new clients.
You might be amazed at how wonderful you feel if you can manage a week without.
How about a slow wean down ... 1 less a day until you are at 0?
Just take it one hour at a time. After a week of success treat yourself with the $$ you saved by not wasting it on tobacco?
I wish you well with this.hypnotize I was hypnotized 4 years ago and have never had an inkling, urge or desire to smoke a cigerette. its mind over matter but it does workCHANTIX
these are pills you take..
they are about 100 bucks for 1 month
i am on them no and I feel really terrible when i smell cigarettes
i have only been on them for 3 weeks
If you are a very heavy smoker you might need a 2 months supply
I think it-s the best i have ever tried .. so far soo good
but might experience some weight gain .. if you dont stack up with good snacks
Good luck... i am have been off smoking for 3 weeks... i breathe alot better.. i smell great.. and my skin looks better.. i wake up not coughing and i dont feel nervous thinking where to smoke
it-s worth it... quit.. i didnt even think i will quit one day and everyone around me called me a chimneymy father chained smoked for 42 years...one day he threw his pack away...and stopped...and hasn-t smoked since....
I tried this method and thought my head was going to explode...I had a headache for days...than I tried the patches and they worked ...I didn-t have the headaches..I didn-t have the cravings....but I ate everything and anything in sight......not good.....so I started smoking again..I just couldn-t stand the weight gain....by the way, my dad gained a little right afterwards...but started walking and took it right off....
I believe to quit this habit..you have to have the desire, willpower, and determination...(in all these things I waver)..... probably cold turkey is the best way to go...I know people who quit smoking and is now addicted to the gum....
I wish you the best of luck.....it is a hard habit to break.....I hope you succeed..I just wish I could.. : /Good ways to stop smoking cigarettes w/out using the patch, gum etc.? -
