Stop smoking tips?!!! NEED TO QUIT!? -

Ive been smoking for a couple years now and i really need to stop...but i cant! any tips?! any help would b greatly appreciated =)Wanting to quit is the most important step. Make sure to talk to the people close to you and ask for their patience and support. Then the first thing to do is get rid of your ashtrays and clean the smokey smell from your car and home. Remove as many remnants and reminders as possible.

In moments of temptation understand it will only last about ten minutes. If you can divert your attention for ten minutes the craving will pass. Stay busy, try a new hobby or explore an interest to replace smoking with a new positive habit. Keep your breath minty fresh also, it may detour you from spoiling it by smoking.

Helpful herbal remedies include nicotiana and yarrow or golden yarrow. They help ease cravings and alleviate emotional symptoms associated with cigarette withdrawal. Both are available in a liquid tonic form just add a few drops to water or juice.

A common quitting strategy is tapering down to a target quit date. Smoke one less per day. Only have your allotted amount of cigarettes with you each day with the others hidden. Have a reward planned for yourself on your target quit date!

Start saying -goodbye- to very cigarette you smoke (for positive programming).

Remember to drink extra water too because as you quit toxins are going to be released from your body. Eat a balanced diet and take supplemental vitamins to restore your health. Congratulations on improving your life!First off, congratulations for WANTING to quit smoking!!

As far as answering, there are a lot of ways, and it also depends on how much you-ve been smoking. The best ways are slowly lowering your dose (takes a long time sometimes), or going cold turkey (which is faster, but harder). Either way, the last thing is making the decision to quit, so you-ll eventually have to deal with the withdrawal.

For the most part, when you deal with withdrawal, you-ll just have to tough it out, but there are some things that can help cleanse out the toxins and may help to minimize some of the effects of withdrawal...
Drinking water will help to detox, and taking some supplements that work as cleansers may help as well. Specifically, Apple Cider Vinegar, Green Tea (decaffeinated), Chlorophyll (fantastic cleanser), and even good amounts of fiber and water helps some people (although it-s not very comfortable for the lower level of detoxification you get).

All that being said, it-s likely that the symptoms should stop relatively shortly after your last smoke (it-s never as long as it feels like it is). Your neurotransmitters don-t take too terribly long to scream for something they are addicted to after you stop.
Another important thing to note is that no matter how bad it gets, taking more of the drug (and yes, nicotine is a drug) will only make the withdrawal last longer and will be harder on you in the long run. Good luck, and congrats again!
If you-re in the UK, go to your GP and ask if you can get help from them. They are usually fantastic, and will help with groups and advice. I don-t know if there-s anything similar in the US, but I-d have thought that any GP would be willing to point you in the right direction to find help. Maybe a pharmacist could give you some advice on where to turn for help and support too?

I would say that the best thing you can do is make sure you have loads of help in place. Try to join a group or find a mentor, and make sure you leave the numbers of someone like the NHS Helpline, ASH and the Samaritans near the phone so that you can phone someone for help once the cravings start.

And massive congrats for doing it. It will be well worth it in the long run.I was a smoker for 20 or more years and I have not had a cigarette since March 17, 2008. I started taking 3 cigarettes per day when I went to work. After a few weeks of that I only took 2, and then it was down to 1. Finally I did not take them at all. I went to a web site called Quitassist.com. They sent me pamphlets that was very helpful. THey suggested I pick a stop date. I did. But.....that day came and went many times, but I kept trying. On March 17 I decided that I was not gonna smoke anymore and I have not. Check out the website and Good Luck!!!All you need are here: http://free-quit-smoking.info 50% depend on you and 50% on this FREE kit. Good weekend!try hypnotherapy
