How do i get my husband to stop smoking weed? -

my husband is smoking weed about 5-6 times a week and he says he is not addicted to it. i want him to stop but i just dont know how. he is just so s t u p i d acting after he smokes and he is such a smart guy, i really cant take thisYour husband is addicted. Maybe not physically, or chemically, but psychologically. He needs to realize that you are more important to him than weed. If that-s not the case, then divorce him.If you really love him, do whats BEST for him: this means get him on a drug helpline or something of that kind. If things just get worse, confront him and say that you don-t feel comfortable with what he is doing. If he blows you off, you surely deserve better: that is when you should divorce. But that-s you-re last option. That-s only if things get dreadfully worse to the point where it ruins your relationship. Just get him a drug helpline or rehab is always an option.HE-S RIGHT..HE-S NOT ADDICTED!!
AN ADDICT SMOKES 5-6 TIMES A DAY!!
HE CAN STOP IF HE WANTED TOO..HE REALLY COULD
U SHOULD SEE WATS HOLDIN HIM BACK BECUZ HE-S SERIOUSLY NOT ADDICTED TO IT

Anyone know N Easy way to stop smoking? -

have COPD, imperative i quit. any suggestions taken seriouslyThe Japanese have come up with an interesting solution which works for many smokers who want to quit - to suck on an ice block whenever you feel the urge to smoke. Although I myself don-t smoke, I think it-s worth a try. Carry ice blocks wherever you go in a cooler bag/box and suck on one whenever you want a cigarette.Chantix and Paxil are GENIUS I am a 3rd year Medical Student LMN-S method for quitting smoking is first class and If I may say so myself LMN has a Superb Doctor. Congrats and that is truely genius pharmacology Chantix and Paxil PERFECT combination for getting rid that habit. Excellent!

You have got to be kidding me right? There is no way to stop smoking that is going to be easy...none at all.
Yes, because you have COPD, it is imperative that you quit....but quitting now is not going to cure this illness...
I smoke, and when I think about quitting....I get scared...don-t you?
Have you tried cutting down first? Maybe cutting back on the AMOUNT of cigarettes that you smoke or cutting back on the content of nicotene...maybe smoking a lighter cigarette?
I would think it would be easier to do it this way rather than go cold turkey and put your body through all of those unnecessary changes...
After you cut back on the cigs, maybe you could use a patch or something like that to quit the rest of the way....good luck with your efforts...and good for you that you want to quit...dying will be a good waystop buying themI quit by starting an intense exercise program and changing my lifestyle. I also used CHANTIX for a month followed by Paxil for 2 months. I am now totally clean and have absolutely no interest in smoking. It also helps to ditch friends that smoke too. Congratulations on deciding to quit; you-ll live... longer. I smoked for 20 years.no easy way..sorry. you need to have most of all...will power!
try using an aid, such as chantix or wellbutrin. i used wellbutrin because chantix wasnt around. pick a quit date and stick with it. maybe a month out. ween yourself down, and by your quit date you should be maybe having one every day or other day. chew gum, or like me, i used sunflower seeds. have support, like family and people at work. tell them what you want to do, and have them try to talk you out of smoking. stay away from situtations that have before triggered your smoking. like going out to bars. i know its hard for somethings..like me..i loved to smoke after eating, while online or playing video games, or driving.Strong will is very important. My best wishes to you.You know, quitting was the easiest thing I-ve ever did. I quit over a thousand times!! There is NO easy way. Smokers relapse all the time. It-s been almost a month for me and I-ve been smoking for 10 years. Personally, I just got fed up with everything. It was affecting my health so much, I made it final in my mind that I was going to quit, and I did. And plus, using the patch helped me alot too, it eased lots of the withdrawal symptoms. And I started doing tons of new hobbies .. exercise, biking, piano, guitar. It-s great and still loving every moment of it.. ohh and sex .. soon.take up a new hobby. when i lived by the ocean i started snorkeling all the time, and quit for a month and a half without any patches, pills, etc.. golfing helps too, as long as i don-t have a bad round lol.sometimes doing an activity to get your mind off it is cool or even chew on straws...how about you dont buy anymore cigarettes and go to stores with them. chew a gum. play a game everyday..Throw the smokes away.

Suck on hard candy or chew gum. Sugarless is good.

Keep busy so you don-t think about it. Write your Christmas cards or go for a walk.

When you usually have one, like after a meal - get up right away and do the dishes or start folding laundry etc...

Good luck. I know it is a hard habit to shake. You will feel so much better after you are off the cigarettes for a few weeks.Honestly the easiest way I found to quit, is to go cold turkey. It sucks for the first couple days, but once you get passed 3 - 5 days, it gets waaaaaaaayyyyyy easier. Cutting back or saying -after this pack I-m done- never works.

My hubbie just began to stop smoking today. I read the side effects as to what may happen to him.? -

My hubbie just began to stop smoking today. I read the side effects as to what may happen to him.? -

He has been smoking since he was like 13 he is turnig 31 in June. Anyway I need some advice as to how to react to him and give him good wifey support I know it will be tough on him with the patch and medication prescribed to him. Please help I need advice.he-s got the meds, so now just be tolerant of the outbursts he might have and know that he doesn-t mean it. When he-s having a good moment, I-m sure he-ll apologize. If he doesn-t realize that he-s doing it that extremely, use those good moments to remind him that you-re on his side and he might want to remind himself of that the next time one is coming on. Other than that, just don-t be too overbearing and let him work it out, ie, don-t add to the aggravation as much as possible. Good sex, especially the most opportune BJ doesn-t hurt! :)Here is how I quit after 30 years. Bought a pack of chewing tobacco and would suck on a piece about the size of your little finger nail. Sounds disgusting but the road he will travel is pure hell.Tell him if he can go a day without it.... you-ll reward him with sex or something. I know it-s not really your benefit. But for guys, I-m sure it would work if you-re very good.I have smoked since 5th grade I am now 42 years old saturday makes my fifth week without a cigarette. I quit cold turkey and it sucks, but I am doing it for my family.

How can I get my mom to stop smoking cigarettes and how can I stop my dad using smokeless tobacco? -

How can I get my mom to stop smoking cigarettes and how can I stop my dad using smokeless tobacco? -

My mom has been smoking since she was in her late teens and she has asthma. I am afraid she will develop lung cancer or worse... I want my mom to be around for a long time because I love her and care about her and I know that she is a very special person. I do not know when my dad started chewing smokeless tobacco, but this type of tabacco can cause mouth cancer and my dad could lose his entire jaw if he continues... I want my dad to be around for a long time because I know if he were to get into an accident, I don-t think I would be ready to become the man of the house. plus, My dad makes most of the money in our family and we couldn-t live in our home without that money... I also look up to my dad and I think he makes good decisions for our family. He is a nice dad and is nice to have around. Even though we have a home security, I feel safer at night when he-s home. I just want them both to live long, happy and healthy lives- drug free. My mom can-t take pills to stop smoking because they give her a stomach ache and idk if there are anything to make my dad quit smokeless tabacco. I need some words of advise or what to say to them to get them to quit. PLEASE HELP!!! Your answers may be my only hope!!!its called willpower,if she doesn-t want to quit she will NOT quit
nothing you do or say will make a difference.empty the dry tobacco from your mothers cigs into a bag, refill it with your fathers smokeless tobacco. then Pour the bag of cigarette tobacco in the smokeless tobacco container. This should make them hate tobacco forever.I tried for years to get my parents to stop smoking. I even went as far as to breaking their cigarettes but it just got me grounded lol. All you can really do is tell them what kind of illnesses they can get and let them know of all the many ways they can try and stop smoking.

My parents eventually just stopped smoking on their own after they decided it was a good way to save money and made the house smell nicer. You can lead a horse to water, but you can-t make them drink it!ask them if you can smoke...seeing they don-t care about there health , why should you ?.....Quitting something that you have been doing for a long time isn-t easy. First of all the person that is smoking has to want to quit. Maybe you can get some literature on quitting and leave it where your mom can read it, tell her that the smoke bothers you and it smells the house and clothes up, suggest maybe going outside to smoke, trust me if someone has to get up and go outside or what have you they might smoke a little less. Also figure out how much money a year it costs for cigarettes and show her the figure, with that money she could buy something shes always wanted ,save the money for a trip, re-do a room in the house. Try the gum or the patch, they are expensive but so are cigarettes. It is nice to hear that younger people actually care enough about there parents health and are willing to help.Hope everything works out for you and your family.I completely understand. My mom smoked but quit a LONG time ago and she doesn-t seem to have any issues. My dad started smoking at like 12 and smoked for about 45 years. Despite this my brother-in-law still -chews-. I work in healthcare and many people tell me the reason they quit smoking was something happened to them personally that was health related that scared the crap out of them. Like coughing up blood or a heart attack. Most people know it-s bad but won-t/can-t quit.

What you need to do is tell them exactly what you-ve said here. Write each of your parents a letter. Break their hearts with how much you love them and need them. Tell them that you are there for them and will help them in any and every way you can. I don-t know much about issues with chewing other than what you-ve already stated. As for smoking, it-s progressive, things only get worse (a lot worse) unless they quit. After the asthma, next will be COPD and constant oxygen is surely in her future if she doesn-t, and that is the beginning. Tell her how terribly sad is makes a total stranger to think of what her future is.

Good luck.eat it it works trust me
(seriously dont trust me)Introduce them both to the concept of electronic cigarettes. They might be willing to switch over to them. While not perfect they are better than what they are doing now.

vapersforum.comJust let them be. Ask for some catalogues from local funeral homes and leave them around the house. Tell them you are eager to give them a final resting place. Have some funeral homes call the house. When you contact the funeral homes, say both your parents will die shortly and told you they wanted to begin the arrangements, for example.

Also, you may decide to ask some oncology institute or hospital to send your home some -postcards- with pictures of blackened lungs and really yucky pictures. A great way to show just how damaging smoking is, is to make a few large posters of internal organs damaged by tobacco and put them in your bedroom so you mom and dad see them every time they go in.
The more eery the result the harder it is for your parents to ignore the images.
Remove posters only if they quit.

Another way is to make 2 giant (human size) cigarrete pillows and give one to each of your parents. If they miss tobacco while they-re quitting, they can hold on to the pillow and never feel lonely. We have all been brainwashed by the nicotine industry. The truth about nicotine is the key to quitting using it. Once your parents understand nicotine they will see it as useless and they will stop using it. Smokers only smoke to stop the nicotine craving. Non smokers don-t crave nicotine. Smokers only smoke to feel like non smokers. There are many other very interesting and useful facts about nicotine. I smoked for 20 years believing that I could not quit. I read an excellent book and quit cold turkey and have not even wished for a smoke. I quit cold turkey almost three years ago.
