Everyday after that without a ciggarette you will feel even more empowered. It takesballs and courage, it also tells you what you are made of. Do it, don-t be a panzy. Good Luck. I smoked a pack and a half of Marlburo a day and have been smoke free for 7 years now.if you are addicted and is not able to abandon the habit then take walnut as the remedy . If you are tempting to smoke when ever the thought comes into your mind or when ever you look at someone smoking or whenever you look at a cigarrette or a pack then you have to take cherry plum as the remedy. The above remedies walnut and cherry plum are called the Bachflower remedies and you can get them in any homeostores. take suitable remedy one ounce and empty pills in a bottle mix few drops in the pills bottle and you can take 6 to 8 pills 3 times a day .
Nux vomica creates aversion in smoking . Please take Nux vomica 6c starting on any New moon day night every day till you get aversion. for one or two months. You can take Nux vomica 1M latter once you get rid of the habit to counter act the adverse affects of Nux. YOu may aget anger on family members during usage of Nux so please control .
Caladium, staphysagria, Nuxvomica, tobaccum, strychinum are some among the anti tobacco drugs in homeopatjhy
radarboy@walla.comThe only person that can help you to stop smoking is you. You need to give up for yourself. Not because you have been asked/told to. Do it for you.
I did it for me 18 months ago. Best thing I ever did. I got patches on prescription, and one of those inhalator thingys. I drank tea, cleaned house like someone possessed, and changed routines as best I could to avoid the -need- (otherwise known as a craving).
Now I never think about me smoking. My doctors at the hospital, and my GP, now all tell me I am a non-smoker. So that is what I am.
If you really want to give up you can and will.Doubt it, it-s you against your demons in the end. Good luck.Cold turkey, way to go.Forget patches, sprays, chewing gum and all the other rubbish.I smoked 20 a day, decided i didn-t want to smoke anymore and stopped, just like that.I-m 58 and have smoked all my life right from school.Just decide in your own mind that you really want to stop, the rest is easy.Honest.3 months now and going strong.Plus with the money I-ve saved I-ve bought myself a new mp3 player for my car.Get more satisfaction from that than cigarettes.Go for it,its easy.Honestly you should just stop smokingHave you tried Hypnotherapy? It can really work.
Your doctor-s surgery might have a Stop Smoking clinic.
If none of this works, try giving yourself positive thoughts for every hour that you resist smoking. Picture yourself looking healthier, being able to run without puffing, and your lungs having a break.
Good luck!!!Homeopathic Treatment for Smoking :-

Take Care and God Bless You !First of all Congratulations on your decision to quit.
You realize it-s not good for you and the others close to you.
As much as it is your decision to quit, it is also upto you to deny your body-s urges for a puff for the rest of your life. Many people can tell you many things and advices but it all comes down to your mental strengh and determination.
Here is little bit of my story.
I have smoked one pack a day for the past 12 years. By the time I reallized it wasn-t cool anymore and hurting my body not to mention stinking up my cloth and car I was hooked.
I chainsmoked when I was under stress and that-s when I first felt sick with overwhelming amount of nicotine and wanted to vomit. That was one of my motivation to quit smoking. But I have a bigger factor I put myself under to deny my urges. I applied to become a firefighter. Not just to quit smoking but I am in a process of career change. And they do not permit any use of tobacco on or off duty. Therefore by putting myself under situation where in order to even be considered for a position I have no choice but to quit. It has helped me through the rough 1-2 month and now I am going onto 5th month without a puff. I went cold turkey and thought about this smoking my last stick of cigarrette. Well I sometimes stand close to my friends who smoke to get a little bit of 2nd hand smoke just to reminice but my urges are under controll now.
(just so you know this wasn-t my first try quiting. I really think the whole motive thing made the difference.)
( possible motives when your health alone is not enough:
for the sake of your loved ones like spouse or child
that worked for me)
Don-t delay. Make up a great deal of motivation of your own or two and think of that when you have the urge. Also, quiting cost more than keeping the habit, buy plenty of gum, mint, mixed nuts, sunflower seeds, and water. They help tremendously. Once you figure out what you want it-s really not that difficult. You and your loved one will be happy and proud of your successful attempt.
Good luck.It is a good idea to find a local smoking cessation class. Groups like this do seem to increase your odds. In Scotland NRT is available on prescription, or you can buy it over the counter. Your other option is Zyban, it is more successful than NRT, but prescription only and has more potential side effects.
The best of luck!the best person to help you is yourself dear!!!!set NO date or occasions when to give cigs up!now you-ve had the courage to say you want to quit, have the determination to throw away what-s left in your packet - call it a day!!!!start now....tomorrow might be too late - you might change your mind!!Read Allen Carr-s Easyway to stop smoking. Worked for me! Don-t worry stopping is easy. Enjoy : )No one can help you to stop smoking except yourself.I do not believe in going cold turkey although everyone is different.I smoked for over 35yrs.I tried 3 times and failed, then suddenly I was filled with this wonderful willpower.I went to Resolution and they offered different aids.I chose the gum which was surprising because I wasn-t a chewing gum person.I found it wonderful has an aid.I got 6 months supply for the price of one prescription.I didn-t use it for the full 6months but without it I wouldn-t have got through. That is nearly 4 yrs now and I feel a different person.I do not wake up in the morning with a sore throat and a tight chest. Two of my daughters have since stopped as well. One used the inhalater for about 3 months and my other daughter used patches, but only for 3 weeks and has never looked back.I hope you
manage to find the help you need.Getting Ready to Quit
Set a date for quitting. If possible, plan to have a friend quit smoking with you.
Notice when and why you smoke. Try to find the things in your daily life that you often do while smoking (such as drinking your morning cup of coffee or driving a car).
Change your smoking routines: Keep your cigarettes in a different place. Smoke with your other hand. Don-t do anything else when you are smoking. Think about how you feel when you smoke.
Smoke only in certain places, such as outdoors.
When you want a cigarette, wait a few minutes. Try to think of something to do instead of smoking. For example, you might chew gum or drink a glass of water.
Buy one pack of cigarettes at a time. Switch to a brand of cigarettes that you don-t like.I think the answer is in your question. Can -Someone- help me to stop smoking? No -Someone- can-t help you to stop smoking.
But, -someone- can help you to realise that you can help yourself to stop smoking. No one else can do it for you.
I would recommend a man called Kevin Laye. He uses Hypnosis as good as McKenna, and NLP and TFT which Paul McKenna uses. Search for him on the net, he can help you usually in one session, I-ve never known him to use two.
This can give you the mind set you need to quit smoking all by yourself, so that you can take all the credit all by yourself. You can take all the pats on the back and all the looks of admiration from all those smokers who want to be just like you. They want to smell as fresh as you and have all the extra cash you have. They want to be as strong as you and they look at you wondering how you did it.
The only person who can stop you smoking is the person who walks around with you all day, removing cigarettes from your mouth every time you caved in. Obviously thats not possible, but bear in mind, the first week its really good to exercise or use a sauna every day to sweat out and eliminate the toxins quicker and drink lots of water to help flush them out too.
You know that you can do this, Kevin will be able to treat all your fears about a future without cigarettes as well as your present issues.Find a well-qualified hypnotherapist. Hypnotherapy has a high success rate for smoking cessation. Good luck.I just quit smoking February 1 2007 when I went in for back surgery told myself that I was going to quit while I was in the hospital. After the first surgery if I could have got up out of the hospital bed and gone outside I would have had a smoke but I had problems after surgery and stayed in the hospital for a month unable to move I still had cravings but could to nothing about it.Then my kids ( 8,6,and 4) came to visit me and my mother told them that I had quit smoking they were so proud of me.I-ve been home for about 3 weeks and its hard but I just think how proud they are and that not growing up around smokers might just help them not become one.
It-s hard and you really have to want to quit but find something that matters more to you then smoking and think of that every time you go to smoke.

Why did my dad pass away of a heart attack? -
Why did my dad pass away of a heart attack? -
My father passed away of a massive heart attack over a month ago. After the fact I tried looking up some information about it but I-mnot sure I understand it. So please, do not copy/paste information.
My dad had diabetes - high blood pressure. He stopped smoking over 10 years ago. He also had a large belly ( but his legs and arms were tiny). I know those all increased his odds of having a heart attack.
He has been eating really well for the last few years and had low cholesterol. So am I right to assume that his arteries were not blocked? He did not have a control on his diabetes...
He also passed away in the shower. Did that make a difference?
How long does the massive heart attack last before someone passes away?
I would appreciate any help I can getThe same thing happened to my father. He was too fat and this is one of the main causes. I feel sorry for you, hugs.I-m sorry for your loss, I-ll pray for your father.
He may have stopped smoking, but that doesn-t mean he never did, and the damage that had been done wasn-t reversed, it just didn-t progress when he stopped. So that-s 10 years of damage to his body he lived with, not counting all the years he smoked. A heart attack is basically when blood supply to a part of the heart is stopped. The lack of oxygen from the blood damages or even kills the heart tissue. You say he did not have a control on his diabetes. Diabetes is definitely a risk factor for heart attacks, so that may just have been what caused it. Also, previous heart attacks or strokes are able to cause later heart attacks. Another risk factor is high blood pressure. I understand he-s been eating well, so his cholesterol was low, which is good because that most likely prolonged his life, or postponed the heart attack [so that he did not have it earlier than he did, meaning he was alive longer]. I wonder if your dad was under any stress, which is also a risk factor. Old age is definitely another risk factor.
I don-t think him being in the shower had anything to do with it...and I don-t know how long the heart attack lasts.
Hope I helped, though..You know all the answers already except one.........Your question is did he suffer before he died......I have had seven heart attacks and five bypasses.Actually the pain isn-t as bad as you would think, during a heart attack there is pain, but there is also weakness to the point of relaxation( inability to resist). If it were a massive attack it was probably very quick that-s why he didn-t have time to get out of the shower. My father had uncontrolled diabetes and I think he suffered more than I have during any of mineCheck out this web page www.medlineplus.gov . Good luck! The pain can be minor in a minor blockage, or for a major blockage, tremendous pain. If the blockage does not clear up, the heart is starved for oxygen, its tissue is dying, and the heart may stop beating right then.
I had a little heart blockage for a real but minor heart attack. I also had mammoth angina which dissipated with nitroglycerin after about 30 minutes, while on vacation. I came home two weeks later, and they did an emergency triple bypass for two near total blockages. They said 99% in two of three main arteries in my case, and I was lucky to be alive. I never smoked, was slim, and exercised in anticipation I would have a heart attack as my father did.
Smoking damages the internal lining of the arteries, which initiates the plaque -repair- and eventual large blockages where they occur. If he ate badly for decades, likely his blockages were nearly as bad as mine. I can-t eat anything with fat, or I get angina. Sometimes within minutes, sometimes lasting for days. But my regular exercise gave me an out. I had well developed collaterals, which did save my life.
I hope he was happy the last few years as he bought more time for you and your family. The changes he made were all he could do at that time, most of the damage was already done, as was mine. My arteries are still blocked. Improvement is only estimated to happen to 2/3 of patients at a rate of only about 5% a year at best.
You and any siblings do know that with a low stress lifestyle, and a great diet, you can avoid the heart disease that took your father. My kids know they need to do this, too. But there are many things I can-t do, so I-m crippled on the inside, but ok on the outside. What he went through can save you from the thing. His legacy can be what not to do, and you-ll live a long time. I hope he-d like that.I am very sorry for your loss. I cannot however answer your question the way you may like. When we are ready to go Home we just go....it-s our time. Try to feel good about where your dad has went. God needed him to go Home, your dad had fulfilled his lessons, his journey here on Earth. Everlasting life...death is just the beginning of his eternity. I would believe that your dad did not suffer....even if it takes time for the body to die, the spirit leaves immediately, therfore there truly is no suffering.
I would encourage you to talk to your dad..he really is with you and you may sense his precense around you,....maybe his smell...or your electronics go crazy....he may send you a bird or a song that reminds you of him....usually the spirits will come when we are sleeping...if you wake up say between 1-4am it may be that your dad-s spirit is in the room...the same way we wake when someone is staring at us or walks into the room while we are sleeping. If your dad comes to you in a dream ask him your questions....make a mental note before you go to bed that if your dad comes to you in your dreams you want him to answer whatever questions you have.
Again, I am sorry for your loss.
God Bless! You know I ran across your question and i see that you are trying to make some since of your fathers passing. Don-t beat yourself up so hard on trying to see if your DAd could have done something different to stay alive. Sometimes it-s someone-s time to go and leave this earth. God tells us that everyone has a time to die pretty much. Maybe your Father didn-t do anything wrong, maybe he did. I cannot say nor, can you. I-m so sorry about your DAD. I am dreading the day my DAD n Mom passes. It must be so hard on you. Try to understand that we all must die one day. I didn-t know your Dad but, I hope that he did not suffer a lot when he passed. I am not sure what a massive heart attact does but I have heard it makes a person go fast. I know you will see your DAD one day in heaven. I believe this. It tells us in the Bible to cry when someone is born into this world and celebrate when someone dies. Now this sounds hard for us to understand but if this is the case then maybe God knows something that we don-t? So sorry for your loss of your DAD. I am going to pray for you so that you can start to heal. God Bless You and please be ok. Ask God to help you to understand this. He will. Your father might not be here in the body wise but his spirit went back to God.When someone dies it tells us that the body goes back to dust for which it was made of and the spirit goes back for which it came, from God. So maybe if your Father is with God then he might be in a different formbut yet he still lives. And one day you might see your DAD. So be happy that you will see your Father again because God loves you and he knows that death is hard on ud down here for sure, He would have to know., He made us and put us here. God knows everything. God knows the times and dates also. There will be a date when we will all see our loves ones and this is what I think anyway. So while your having it hard then try to imagine a better place that your DAD might be in? Your Father did good by living his life out on this earth. Now he has payed the ultimate prize. He has died for his sins and now he is washed free of his sins. I can only imagine the good spot he is in now. Although no one is in a big hurry to die, when we do die then we are promised if we believe in God and his Son Jesus Christ, Then we will have everlasting life. I know your DAD believed so be happy for him and time will heal your heart to. God Bless you!I-m sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, if the conditions you mentioned were untreated, it really isn-t a surprise that he had a heart attack. First heart attacks are fatal in about 30% of cases and 50% of heart attack victims don-t have elevated cholesterol.
Being in the shower would not usually bring on an AMI. The timing from onset of symptoms to death varies with the individual and the circumstances which brought on the attack. A person can actually have symptoms and either not think they are indicative of a heart attack, or not severe enough for them to seek medical treatment. It is possible to have symptoms and not have an attack and it is also possible to have an attack with no symptoms whatsoever. That-s why high blood pressure is called the silent killer.I am sorry to hear about your dad and I lost my dad several years ago due to MI, blockages, etc. Diabetes has its own set of complications which include kidney problems, ulcers, eyes, etc.
I dont know what meds he was on so here it goes...If he was on cholesterol lowering meds that kept his cholesterol in check with the acceptable numbers...You still have the cholesterol factor everyone does.
Bits and pieces will emerge over time from people who may let out the info about your dad.
I know people who died just like your dad, suddenly...
I am sure he got help that could be rendered.
My prayers are with you so you may get through this time without much hurt.Sorry about the sad news.
The very warm water from the spraying caused the inelasticity of blood vessels; BP jumped and so heart must work very hard for a blocking plaque and triggered a massive heart attack because of lack of oxygen from the steam. It must happen too fast to get a fresh air! Source from few books of Dr Dean Omish, and others.Unfortunately dear, when it-s someone-s time to die, there-s not much anyone can do to prevent it. It sounds like your Dad had lots of health problems. Heart attacks are caused by a number of things so it-s hard to say what caused your Dad-s heart attack or how long it took him to die after it occurred.
My beloved Mom passed away on August 2nd from lung cancer. She was a smoker for a long time but quit 20 years ago. It isn-t fair but it still happened.
Your Dad would want you to be a happy successful person. Try to deal with your grief as best you can. Best of luck to you! I know what you-re going through. Why did my dad pass away of a heart attack? -
Smoking/asthma/skin? -
Smoking/asthma/skin? -
I started smoking about 4 months ago, and I have asthma. I keep trying to quit, but it only lasts for a few days. Anyhow, my skin keeps getting really dry and red and it feels really hot. And my throat hurts alot too. I was wondering if this skin problem might have anything to do with me being an asthmatic smoker? I think I-m finally motivated to start exersicing and stop smoking and try and get healthy.Smoking has been proven not only to cause cancer but will age the skin more quickly too. You definitely should quit cigarettes, especially with asthma. Have you ever had asthma whereas the air will not go in and what little air comes in wants to come out? That is what happens even more so with lung disease and it is fatal. Talk with your Dr. and be certain to talk about your smoking. You will never know when the asthma is going to come until it generally comes on quickly and can acclerate and even become deadly. Cigarette smoking as you know is a killer. The skin will wrinkle and age more quickly as I said earlier but about the healthy lifestyle you seem to want. is good. Take care and much luck with your motivation.well first of all you should not smoke anymore try chewing gum or doing something else. And if your skin is dry and you have red skin it may be from smoking and having asthma. If your throat hurts then maybe your just getting a cold but if it doesn-t go away then it might lead to a disease or an unknown disease. Try cough drops and drinking water but if this doesn-t work than it may be necessary to see a doctor. This may lead to death. And try looking on old cigarette carton and see the symptoms or side effects when smoking.Smoking can definitely effect your skin by restricting blood flowPlease stop smoking.... it-s so gross. And moisturize your skin. Just lotion on up and stop smoking. No, I don-t think either smoking or asthma cause dry skin.Smoking/asthma/skin? -
