I have stopped smoking for a week tomorrow? -
I-ve used the high strength patch and its been easy, i-ve not once wanted a ciggie, i-ve even been to the pub and got slaughtered.
Why am i sailing thru this when others fail at the first hurdle?Congratulations. I don-t know why it-s such a big deal, either. I quit in September and it-s been easy. I-ll even go you one better.... I didn-t use any crutches at all. Just quit.Congrats!Well done you for stopping! I gave up nearly 9 years ago and I haven-t had any thoughts about starting up again. The first few weeks are great because you-re getting such a buzz from stopping and the praise you get from others about it. Your health thanks you! xwell done keep it up. I wish i had your will powerMaybe because you really want to succeed and were ready to give up. Well done you - keep up the good work - I envy you as I-m still a smoker xxxxxxxIt shows that you have very strong will power
I congratulate you for your will to stopGood 4 u. Maybe u just have more willpower. You may get your symtpoms after a while when your brain tells you that just having the one will be OK ? don-t listen! keep up the good work! The thing is you still have to give up the nicotine the patch is providing you have only given up inhaling smoke. I wish you luck.hey if its working don-t worry, good on you for quittingNo idea.
My Father in law,smoked 40 a day for 50 years.He stopped overnight-without any help.
Others that I know have tried everything from patches to hypnosis with no success.
Perhaps it to do with sub-concious will power.Well done keep on going :)I am so proud of you. Your body will thank you. HANG IN THERE!congratulations.but my mum was the same, she sailed through six months, and then started again! keep up the good workCongrats on that. Most people cant do it because they simply aren-t ready. IYou cant really quit until you, yourself are ready to quit... thats why. If they were ready and willing and dedicated, they could have done it too. You just hang in there and keep up the good work.You-re committed to quitting and that-s great...I-m having a smoke right now and I wish I wasn-t.Well bully for you.
I gave up in 1986 and still am smoke freeDont ask, just keep doing it.I have stopped smoking for a week tomorrow? -
Is Creatine good for building muscle agility? -
Is Creatine good for building muscle agility? -
Hi everyone, ok. I’ve stopped smoking about 1 1/2 ago, since then I-ve been working on my cardio. I decided that I would like to jog, ultimately become a decent runner and maybe do small marathons. I-ve been doing like 20 minute jogs and gradually building speed, I-m at 5.0 now. But I need to know what Vitamins I should take to build strong muscle and agility, to withstand the training I-m about to sustain. I have a trainer that I will be working with, actually starting today. Also, I’ve been attending cycling classes, and some days I could barely finish the classes. Does anyone have some insight? Also, I’ve heard that Creatine is very good for muscle build.Creatine is great for muscle building, but not for agility. Any muscle building is going to tighten you up, instead of making you agile. To stay or become more agile you have to stretch before and after a workout and when your not working out.
My fiancee did a triathlon and the best thing that she did was yoga. It helps SOOOO much with agility and flexibility, and if you do the right kind of yoga, it helps with core muscle strength training.yes, creatine is a good wat to build muscle but since using creatine causes water to go into your muscles, all you-re gaining is muscle weight. once you stop taking it, you-re muscle size will decrease. also, its essential to keep hydrated when taking it. people taking the recommended amounts(usually 5g/day) should be drinking at least a gallon of water, thats a little more than 16 glasses of water a day. don-t drink enough water and you-ll become dehydrated, thus losing energy and harming your liver. some people have tried the -loading- technique in which 6 times the recommended amount of creatine is taken in the initial stages of training with creatine. some bodies can handle it, some can-t. you know your body better than anyone else, so respect it by being impatient for results and permanently damaging it. also, as a runner, you don-t want to build too much muscle, because as everyone knows, muscle is denser than fat, so if you-re bulky, thats more weight for your legs to carry on the treadmill. ever wonder why cross country runners are so slim???Im glad to hear you gave up smoking. As far as building muscle goes, you want to do nothing but low repetitions with heavy weight. I recommend just sticking to the basic lifts to start. Chest= bench press, incline dumbbell press...Biceps= preacher curls, concentration curls.....Triceps= Cable Press-downs, Skullcrushers....Shoulders= Seated Dumbbell Press, Upright Rows.....Back= Lateral Pull-Downs, Bent-Over Rows.....Legs= Front Squat, Lunges, Calve Raises........As far as creatine goes it has its pro-s and con-s. PROS: better appearance of muscles, easy to take CONS: its -fake muscle- by giving you a higher water retention within your muscles to make them look bigger, gives you gas, after you stop taking it you virtually lose most gains..........I would recommend taking any brand of Whey Protein with a low fat count (less then 5g per serving). Remember the only way to make your muscles grow is by shocking them which means you must you a heavy enough weight that allows you to only accomplish 1-6 repetitions. And ALWAYS have a spotter. Best of luck to you.I new a dude who took that stuff...and when he stopped he lost his muscle and had man boobs!FIrst, congrats on quitting smoking. Second, the best thing you can do is eat healthy, make sure you get enough good calories in, i.e. carbs, proteins and good fats. As for supplements, creatine does not build muscle, it helps supplies your body with energy to be able to workout. No matter what you read or what you hear around the gym, the only way to build muscle is to break it down, and the only way to break it down is to work out. You are doing the only thing you can to improve your running by continue running. You can add some weight training in there to help improve the body-s ability to recover. If I were to suggest any kind of supplementation, it would be a good quality protein drink. Look online and talk to your trainer about a good protein to use, ultimately it-s up to you to choose. Good Luck!!!Is Creatine good for building muscle agility? -
I have a bad heart how can i stop smoking i cant seem to quit? -
I have a bad heart how can i stop smoking i cant seem to quit? -
Step #1 you need a real good reason to quit
With a bad heart seems like a good enough reason.
To make it easier cut back on the time between smokes like once a week let your body have time to adjust to the new levels
I quit a 5 pack a day habit after smoking 55+ years
I know it can be doneHave you tried hypnosis? I-m not entirely sure how it works, but it worked for one my my mom-s friends.Dude the patch helped me, remove yourself from everything that involes a smokeI smoked over 15 years and have been smoke free 1 year and 1 month. My husband smoked over 25 years and has been smoke free for almost 2 years. How I did it was by making up my mind that smoking is no longer an option, period. I am not saying it was easy, cause it was not. I walked a lot, drank a lot of water and tea, and mostly reminded myself that the craving will pass, whether I smoked a cigarette or not. Gum helps, candy helps. Also, I know people who have had success with the combination Welbrutin and the patch, I was just one of them. I went cold turkey. All of the -stop smoking- aids in the world will not help you if you are not of a mind to quit. They will only help you overcome the physical withdrawl. The mental part is all you.
Good luck....I-m still trying to quit.I have a bad heart how can i stop smoking i cant seem to quit? -

The most dangerous things that could happen are it could lead to other drugs or it could mess up your lungs if you smoke like 5 times a day. Higher risk of the last one is if you smoke cigarettes.look, if i can stop smoking weed, anyone can! before i had my daughter i was the biggest pot heads on the planet and i gave it up for her. its not addictive its all in your head.some of these ppl are telling u not to stop but do u have any idea what its doing to ur health??? hahaha u dont wanna no i would advise u to stop now bcuz its killing u each time its simple just throw away all ur weed and dont buy more=/ only u can make that change not anyone els. first off weed rly damages ur liver and brain and each time u smoke it can make ur liver and heart work hearder and u dont want that. weed also increases blood sugar levels which can kill u. weed also includes passing out and light headed ness. even tho weed compared to the other drugs does least to ur health its still very bad for u. i would tell u to stop now! ur 24 for god sake u shud no how bad it is 4 u im only 14 and i probly no more about what it does to ur health wich is kinda sad... do u want to live ur life as a druggy??? do u want to put ur family thru the pain of noing that their son can die any minut?? 10,000 ppl die each year from weed. do u wanna b amoung that 10,000?? i dont think so. drop the weed now! its killing u more than u no. oh and it can also effect ur chances of getting a job and supporting a healthy family. stop now!Whatever you do, don-t start drinking...dont stop!!!I want to stop smoking weed for my health, but i love the purple stuff. should i stop? and how? -
Stopped smoking and none of the things that happened to my mates is happening to me? -
Stopped smoking and none of the things that happened to my mates is happening to me? -
Sorry if this sounds awful but need to know if anything is wrong.
My mates stopped smoking and said that they coughed up all kinds of things from their lungs almost straight away. I have been stopped for 3 weeks and never even had a cough. They say it is your lungs clearing, does this mean mine are not clearing themselves. I smoked 20-25 a day for 31 years why wont my lungs kick out all the grime I selfishly put in them. Please tell me this is normal what I am having. The only other bad thing to happen is my gums are extremely sore and my lips have split as if they are chapped. Any advice would be appreciatedMy father stopped after 50 years with no coughing up of stuff. Nothing but beneficial effects and his lungs were fine.
It was his kidneys that got him in the end, nothing to do with cigarettes.I stopped almost three years ago after smoking for over 40 years. I have never coughed anything up.You-re not meant to be coughing things up...they-ve got the problems, not you!Well, the only thing I can think of is this. There are apparently little hair like projections on the mucous membrane lining the airways right down to the lungs. These function to waft up any particles and mucous away from the lungs and out of the air passages. When you smoke these little hair like projections get covered with I guess nicotine. Anyway, they stop working so you have less of an ability to get rid of gunk from the lungs. Maybe after smoking so long the little hairs become so damaged that even when you stop they don-t waft up the gunk from my lungs.Stopped smoking and none of the things that happened to my mates is happening to me? -
