What is The Best Thing About Smoking ? -
After the death of Allen Carr I have finally decided to spend some of my free time to help other people BASH THE WEED. I have made a real commitment for the new year to help other people give up as I have.
Due to smoking in 2006 we lost two dear friends and also two of my close family have died of cancer related illnesses in the past. To lose Allen Carr this year was a horrible loss as he has done so much for the cause, he was a titan in the war against the horrible habit.
Also new laws in 2007 will stop smoking in public places in the UK so gives people a real reason to stop. All profits of the website will be used to fund charities and further the products and development of the website.
My goal is to help as many people stop smoking as I can.
I hope you can join me.
My kindest regards
Phillip

I am a smoker and personally find no great thing about smoking.
Good LuckWho is/was Allen Carr?Nothing great about smokingNothing. It must be great to be so self righteous. A good cause perhaps, but this is still spam. The only best thing about smoking goes only to the manufacturer and the tax office. Profit.i am a smoking cessation advisor working in a secondary school to help addicted teens . well done for quitting and i think what you are doing is brill. it is hard work but well worth the effort. i have so many teens wanting to stop and they have been smoking since the ages of 8 and 9. i am fully commited to helping them.
good to know there are others. merry christmas.i quit a few years ago when my heath was getting worse, i was coughing, could not breathe, (forever gettin bronchitis) and other smoke related illnesses my weight dropped and i found it hard to do daily activities, i had to quit at the gym because i could not do it due to being out of breath all the time....my doc said i should quit at that moment and prescribed me with patches, it took a hell of alot of willpower but i am so glad that i stopped, now i feel healthy and my teeth are whiter, i dont smell like an ashtray and my skin is much clearer....but i work in clubs and pubs and cannot avoid second hand smoke...this smoking ban in UK is good but i can see most of the pubs and bars emptying and people will just stay home if they want a drink....good luck with your project, i too lost a few people to cancer some as young as 30...my step dad died of lung cancer when he was 47, thats a few years older than me now.....so sad, so keep up the good work, i will visit your website to see what it-s about...thankyouI am trying to quit cigarettes and have cut down drastically, I know cutting down dont mean much but im on the way to free lungs. Since there are more than one areas where you need to improve your life, I will be very honest - genuinely try to help you in most of the areas.
For areas like smoking, depression, weight loss, etc. I would recommend Hypnosis.
Take smoking for instance, If you smoke, your mind has been programmed by repetition. This programming can be undone easily, naturally and effortlessly through the power of hypnosis.

Also, keeping in mind you are a stay at home mom, have you thought about Internet Marketing?
There are many stay at home moms working in the IM industry.
You just have to be careful who you listen to and what you spend your money on as there are a lot of unscrupulous people out there waiting to take your money.
By far the most genuine learning resource I have ever come across is provided by two college graduates who went
from broke to making over a million dollars a year.
You are probably in a great position as a stay at home mom as you can learn about your business while putting it into practice and making money.
Do yourself another favor and check this out. (Try to read as much as you can - make a decision, because there is no better place online than this)

May health, wealth - prosperity be with you.I am glad to hear you have decided to take steps to make yourself healthier and happier in your own skin. I know you can do this. First thing to remember is that you did not get this way over night, you don-t have to fix things overnight. What you do need to do is set up a plan, stick to it, and reward yourself for doing well.
Also if meditation can help relax you, center you, and just generally make you feel better even if you do it 5 minutes a day it can help support you in all of your goals.
I know you can do this, remember houses are built one nail at a time. work on building yourself a new life one step at a time. You are on the right path, you have identified where your goals are, now it is time to start the journey to get there.
Good Luck! You sound like what i was like, this may be harsh but the only way to change things is to motivate yourself go out for walks take up an active hobby which you would enjoy, this is what i done before i started i was 14 and a half stone i smoked as well it got me really down as well. You have to change things for yourself as well as your child i promise if you do this you will feel a lot better about yourself. i am now 12 stone. and intend to lose between a stone to half a stone. good luck.Hi,
I have been struggling for years with my weight.
I used every weight loss program out there, used diet pills
you name it, I have done it.

JoeAll those symptoms can be caused by the pill. Our hormones are in such delicate balance, yet we throw more hormones at them and then wonder why we-re a mess. I really think that if you get rid of the pill, you will be back to normal in no time. As for bc, I would like to share another option with you. It-s called a diaphragm. It works without the hormones so you don-t end up with hormonal craziness, or worse. It-s like a female condom, you can-t feel or see it and neither can he. You put a little spermicide on the rim, which seals it and kills any trouble makers. If you follow directions as to how to use it exactly, it-s as effective as the pill. The doctor will fit it to get the right size and to show you how to put it in. It-s easier than to remember to take a pill everyday, you only have to remember it when you will have sex. Or it won-t work at all, of course. If periods are an issue regarding sex, it won-t be anymore. The diaphragm holds the blood over night. It was my favorite bc method. However like the pill, it doesn-t protect against std-s, or the possibility of getting a disease that will kill you.

How can i incourage my nehibors without being pushey or rude to stop smoking????? For my behalf and their son-s behalf.you cant encourage them. you only can stay away to keep your self healthy. there is nothing you can do til they decide to quit. then you can support. You cant. Yoy can only highlight to them what they allready know, which is smoking will kill them or give them horrible diseases. I have tried everything to get my partner to stop, but it just does not work unless they want to.why would you want to do that to a NEIGHBOR? what they do in there own home is there business, if you dont like it dont do it and let them be and live the life they feel good withMENTAL DISORDERS
Oh there is so much more thaks for making me do my homework. it-s a personality disorder but it may also be the cause of some of them. Interesting.
------------------------------...
The purpose of this site is to assist in preventing mental disorders
(a) by avoiding lay notions (such as the lay myth that smoking is a habit, not a mental disorder), and
(b) by citing medical journal data on the role of tobacco in mental disorders.
Let-s start by seeing what medical researchers have found.
In the Autumn 1998 issue of Tobacco Control, a voluminous summary of data on the subject from a June A.M.A. conference was recently published.
-Persons with mental illness are about twice as likely to smoke as other persons.- And, -Persons with a currently active mental disorder consumed 44 per cent of all the cigarettes smoked in this nationally representative sample.-—Karen Lasser, MD, et al, -Smoking and Mental Illness: A Population-Based Prevalence Study,- 284 J Am. Med. ***-n (#20) 2606-2610 (22/29 Nov 2000). (Also at
http://www.unhooked.com/atod/lasserjama0…
And, -smoking is more common in patients . . . with accelerated than with benign hypertension. It appears that hypertensive patients who smoke regularly are more likely to developed the accelerated phase than those who do not.-—Elliott, John M., and F. O. Simpson, -Cigarettes and accelerated hypertension,- The New Zealand Med J (#662) 447-449 (25 June 1980).
-Avant le . . . tabac, la folie était une maladie très rare dans l-humanité,-—Depierris, Hippolyte A., Physiologie Sociale: Le Tabac (Paris: Dentu, 1876), p 346. Before tobacco, mental disorder was a rare malady among humans.
Toxic tobacco smoke (TTS) is radioactive and contains toxic chemicals, and produces toxic chemicals emissions far above the safe and legal limits. Harm by tobacco pushers is foreseeable and thus is by definition intentional.
The brain operates on electrical impulses and chemicals, e.g., serotonin, dopamine, etc. They are involved in regulating mood, reasoning, ethical controls, and all brain functions. Nerves communicate with each other by using such chemicals to transfer messages, cross the synapses, between nerves. Tobacco-s toxic chemicals have an impairing effect on the message transfer process. Naturally, mood, reasoning, ethical controls, and other brain functions are impaired. TTS-caused damage, says Thomas Edison (1914) is irreversible.

HOPE THIS HELPS IM GOING TO BY CIGARETTES CALLED NATIVE SOLD BY INDIANS AT LEAST NO ADDITIVES THEN TRY TO QUIT.You really can-t. Sorry. You can-t really!
Just let them know not to smoke in your house and stuff.
But saying that if they are polite they will ask anyway. I always doIt is a decision that they will have to make for themselves Pushing them into it will make them resist moreWell, It-s America if they want to smoke in their own home......then it-s their right. They should respect their son-s life and smoke outside but at the same time, that-s really none of your business. I-m tired of all the -anti-smoke haters- out there telling smokers what they will, what they can do and what they shouldn-t do. Eating a double quarter pounder is probably just as bad but you don-t see anyone banning McDonald-s. Bottom line is it-s not your business. If you don-t like it move to another apartment.its not your buisness if they smoke. Its a free country. If they are not smoking in YOUR house, I think you need to mind your own business. You really can-t say anything, it-s there right to smoke. Try getting an air filter for your home, or move.no thank youYour neighbors (like me) are probably as aware as you are of the health dangers of smoking. Very few people are not.
As a smoker, I appreciate the (concerned and polite) efforts of others to encourage me to quit, and I know without question that they are right. (Well, when they are right. Some of them pull diseases and statistics out of their hats. -s-)
The reason I haven-t quit is NOT because enough people haven-t encouraged me. In my case, the reason is that I have tried and tried, and have so far been unable to stay quit. I am neither stupid nor uninformed; I am addicted and, for some reason, more afraid of not smoking than some other smokers. (Don-t tell me how irrational that is, I know!)
On the other hand, learning to keep their smoke away from their children--while it won-t reduce their risk of becoming smokers because their parents are--will certainly reduce the immediate health risks to the children. And it isn-t about addiction or fear of withdrawal or any of those really hard-to-overcome hurdles.
So perhaps you should focus your efforts in that direction. It is less of a -personal attack- (I know you don-t mean to attack, but our addiction is a scary thing, and we feel attacked despite intent), less of a threat, and really, a much more likely area for you to help them affect change.
I think it took me about three days to get used to NEVER smoking in the house, and a little longer to force myself to pull the car over, get out to smoke, and then continue our drive.
But if their smoking actually impacts you in some physical way (I-m trying to imagine how it could), then none of this is going to help that. That one, I guess, will require firmer demands on your part, and you may have legal recourse, depending on how this is happening. I mean, if they-re coming on your property and blowing smoke in your windows, there is certainly legal relief available!I don-t think you would do anything but make your neighbors mad at you. Stay away from them if you don-t like them smoking.That-s their choice. Unless they are in YOUR home smoking, then mind your own business. I am anti-smoking too, but I also believe in personal choice. They know smoking is bad for them and they also know it-s unhealthy around children. Unless you want an all-out neighborhood war, just leave it alone.Unfortunately we cannot hang smokers by the rafters. The only option you have is to move if it bothers you. You cannot dictate how people live their lives in their own home.They-re your neighbors? LEAVE THEM ALONE!!!!! IF they try to smoke in your house, say something. However, them smoking in their own yard or house is NONE OF YOUR EFFING BUSINESS!!!!!!!! What little bit you inhale while in your yard from their yard, when the wind is blowing in that direction, is MINISCULE. Quit being a busy-body and mind your own business! You can-t. Look, they know. They know all of the problems with smoking, they know it gives you cancer, but they-re addicted and so do not desire to quit. Nothing you tell them will make them stop unless/until they choose themselves. All you-re going to do here is make them start avoiding you. That-s like trying to shove religion down somebody-s throat. If the smoke is that big a deal to you, just avoid them completely when they smoke. When they ask why you-re doing it, tell them you value your lungs and are avoiding the smoke, not them. That would be as good a clue as any.don-t, just avoid them. don-t cause any more trouble than you already have by giving them looks. smokers don-t like being told what to do. well, neither does anyone else.im in the same position but its my mother if you find out a way tell meThat is officially none of your business.tell them you have asthmau can go to any pharmacy and buy a gum.. its for stop smoking
try that.. cuz I-ve already try ed.Smoking????!!!? -
